"It's Personal."

If you have something you would like to tell or ask me, why not post a comment here? This thread is set for me to review comments before they appear. They're just between you and me. Well I might read them out loud and they could be overheard by my pets.

I would love if you would comment on my blog posts of course. But if you just want to leave a quick message about any and everything, please feel free...

I recommend everyone have a blog so that others can contact them.

Have a great day!

Critical Poetry Thoughts

Someone criticized my poetry,
He said he could not understand it
He said that it did not make sense
He said that it is kind of juvenile
As I make it like a conversation.

Oh really well let me tell you what I really think!
I don't really know why I write poetry this way.
I just began and it is hard to change.

This person suggested I need to add description
That I had to add visuals
That I had to describe the senses
That I had to let people feel for themselves
And not tell them only how I feel.

But like a zebra
If I were to be covered in white paint
Eventually the stripes would reappear
As the paint would fade.

Nature has many an animal that has spots
Supposedly they cannot change them
Should I count myself in their kingdom?
But I have many more facets as I am a human.

Oh then there is that lizard
Made famous by Boy George and Culture Club,
Come on and sing it!
I know you want to!
quot;Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, Chameleon".
Its skin changes with its surroundings.
Oh were I that adaptable!
Perhaps some day I will be.

But now that I have vented,
Now that my pot has gone from boiling to simmering,
I will just tell myself in a soft whisper.
It is all good.
It is actually constructive criticism.
It is just an added piece of wisdom
To which I can pick at as I please.

I may one day write a poem with just imagery.
I may one day write a poem that does not voice,
the way I speak,
I may one day write a poem that does not rhyme at all.
Who would I be then?
Would I still be me?
Oh seriously,
I am not that dense
I am just going through the motions
Until this poem ends.
Making Each Other Feel Young. A Poem

My raincheck took place.
My New Year's Eve date
Came through although
It had less fanfare
As it was a little
Over two weeks late.

But it was good.
He and I did
What we could
And promised
To do more
If we get together
For an encore.

You see we both
Have things
We want to explore.
Certain acts
And longevity
Of our love making
Or as I like to call it
A marathon.
Which he agreed
He would participate
In the next time.

I think in the days
And nights to come
I will be thinking
And dreaming about him.
How he made
Me feel comfortable.
How I loved his hairy chest
And his kisses
And how he let me
Lead the pace.
Just thinking about
That again is making
Me wet.
He and I are like
Horny teenagers
Who can't get enough sex!
Even though we are
Both past the half
Century mark!
We can certainly
Do our part to make
Each other feel young!
Need A Good Fuck. A Poem

I guess you could say
I need a good fuck.
It's been a while
Since I have been
With someone
Who had stamina
And could go
For many rounds.

Is he as rare
As an unicorn?
Is he gone
To the land
Of legendary heroes?
I might need to
Do some research.
I should make it
Part of an
Academic pursuit.
So as to get
The credit.
Now that would be
Some kind of investigation!

Seriously though
I hope I find someone
In the near future
For this masturbation
Routine is getting old!
Loneliness Abated For A While. A Poem
Posted:Jan 12, 2019 12:58 am

He was a mirage
In her deserted heart.
An illusion
That she built up.
When reality
Assumed it's role
That had been uncast
The illusion burst apart.
Leaving the empty
And deserted heart again.
Did she regret
His appearance altogether?
No because he made
For some carefree days
Loneliness abated
For a while
As he catered to
Some of her whims
Which provided amusement
For the both of them.
His Words Cut Like A Knife. A Poem

Why am I even entertaining
The idea that we can have
Any kind of relationship
After the treatment of his?

I think it is something
To do with the signs
That are attached to him.
But can I really win?
When he has such
A hard head?

When he couldn't
See my side of things
How his words
Cut like a knife
How I literally cried
Myself to sleep
He failed to see
Yes he failed to see
Me as a worthwhile
Human being
As he did not
Offer an apology.
Where is his practice
Of treating others
As he would like
To be treated?
He Found Me Wanting A Poem
Posted:Jan 10, 2019 8:44 pm
Last Updated:Jan 18, 2019 2:57 pm

He ruined it.
My buzz
My flood of endorphins
Dwindling to next
To nothing.

He did it with harsh words
Meant to spur me to action
From my long absence
Of following convention.

He found me unique
He found me charming
He found me passionate
He found me wanting.

My inadequacies
My deficiencies
They added up to
Too much for him.

He wanted me to change.
I mean it would be
For my own good.
He considers it
Getting back in the game.
Fighting for a life
That I have long since
Found too much
To handle
With my health concerns.

It saddens me
That it has ended
Before it had a chance
To begin.
God it was so
Effing promising!
But I was fooling myself
That someone could
Be supportive, caring
And loving.
And most of all accepting.
Beth Hart A Poem

Do you want to feel alive?
Have you been just
Going through the motions
And just surviving?
I have a suggestion.
Watch a Beth Hart performance.

I recently discovered her.
She has often been
Compared to Janis Joplin.
But Beth is here for us!
Sharing her brilliance!
Her heart and soul
Are to be witnessed!
You can bet your ass
That seeing her perform live
Is on my bucket list!

You name the blues song
She does it justice!
Just seeing the tributes
She has done
For Buddy Guy
At the Kennedy Center
As well as Led Zeppelin.

Her performances are raw!
Afterward you are worn out!
I don't know how she
Keeps standing after she
Belts out those tunes!
She is the modern day
Queen of the blues.

If I ever see her perform
In person.
I want to make a fist
And make a gesture to my chest.
Because that is where
Her music is felt.
As well as shake my head
Denoting I am incredulous
That I just witnessed
Something rare
And extraordinary.
Each performance seems
To be one for the ages.
Pragmatic Lessons A Poem

I can be grateful
For the lessons
I can be pragmatic
Even if they are painful.

I know what
I am trying to do
If I am truly honest
With myself
I am trying to
Find the perfect excuse
That explains
Why I have failed.

Boy do they add up!
Molehills will soon
Be over taken
By mountains.
For things do
Get compounded
Over time.
Lost Texts. A Poem

Last Updated:Jan 9, 2019 8:41 pm

Stupid phone
With it's text dumps
Now I have no record
Of our conversations.

Oh boy!
Were some magnificent!
The exchange of thoughts
The engendered emotions
All became a heady potion
Garnering feelings
Of lust and love.

Now they are lost
My memory is
Not as good
As it once was
So I am only
Able to recall
Bits and pieces.
As you can imagine
This hardly
Provides any satisfaction.
Partner In Relay. A Poem
Posted:Jan 8, 2019 11:47 pm
Last Updated:Jan 10, 2019 11:17 pm

With each passing day
I find I am losing the race
To find someone
To be my partner
In relay.

They would be
Part of my team!
Finally someone
Interested and integral
To my success!
They are even sharing
In part of the burden
While I wait and rest.

The tears I shed
Tasting of many
An emotion.
Finally someone
Cares enough
They may just
Stick around
Til the end.
Word Stings

He knew of
My love for butterflies
Yet he brought
A swarm of bees
Into a fight.
Going for the jugular
Of my self esteem.

These word stings
How can I overlook them?
I would be a fool
Not to think
He wouldn't employ
Them once again.
It took so little
To bring them on
This time.

Its basically
His true colors revealed
For with every harsh word
Every harsh assessment
There was little chance
Of going back
To the days of butterflies
The days of spreading
Cheer and happiness.
Broken Record. A Poem
Posted:Jan 7, 2019 12:35 pm
Last Updated:Jan 9, 2019 11:29 am

I am a broken record
Just skip over
The parts of me
That hit snags
Not sure what happened
Except being worn down
With time.

If you could readjust
The needle
Get back to the music
You sought
The music that
Can fill your soul
And heart?
Would you get up
Off the couch
Take the few
Necessary steps
To get the sound
You longed to listen to
Perfect again?

That little speed bump
That little snag
That little groove
That throws things off
But only for a moment
If you have the will
To continue on.

Knowing in your deepest parts
That if someone was willing
To get past the things
That have held you stuck
You would be ever grateful
And be free to go on
And be open once again
To finding
And maintaining love.
