Living at the Jersey shore during the Winter time ...it's quiet.

Gives you a lot of time to think.

I moved to Atlantic City back in 2011, after living 27 years in Fairfax County VA.

Now thinking how much I loved Virginia. I was right outside of Washington, DC.

All those years I spent in Virginia, I either lived in Reston or Burke.

I was the owner of a large Multimedia Firm in Springfield, VA.

I was also a hostess at a place called the Hideaway South (see photo)

Closed down the Multimedia company in 2010, sold my home in 2011.

Always thinking I wanted to live at a beach. I picked Atlantic City since I'm originally from Jersey (But central Jersey).

Winters are way to cold here for my liking.

Throughout this year I'm looking for my next move.

As of now it looks like it will be the OBX area of NC.

First Half of My Career (Music)

Now semi retired...

Looking back at my career & work history

I was lucky enough to turn my hobbies into my life long career.

Part 1;

Audio Engineering
Live Sound Mixing Engineer
Recording Engineer
Radio Programmer ( Adult Contemporary Format)

This blog is more-or-less about the Radio Programming of the AC Format.

The Adult Contemporary format back in the 70's and 80's Consisted of artist such as Billy Joel, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Paul Anka, Sheena Easton etc...

My job was to pick the song/artist and create a playlist.

Each playlist was 30 minutes in length, consisting of two 15 minute segments.

After the list was created. I would record the cuts onto Reel-to-Reel tapes.
Have copies made of these tapes and sending them out to various Radio Stations throughout the US.

Part of my job was to hang out in the city of where each station was playing our music. Making sure the station played the songs in the order that was on the list I created.

I would have so much fun with this. I would hang out and bars and restaurants That had the station on and say to those working... I bet you I can tell you what song comes on next.

Not telling them what I do.

After we laughed about it I would tell them what I do and show them my playlist.

The rain and warm temps from yesterday are gone.

Today is a blue sky, but cold

To cold for the beach. No one is out here.

Living here, I'm doing my best to enjoy the moment before the boardwalk and beach area get's packed with visitors.

I always wanted a Jeep for the beach. Never had one.

Enjoy your Saturday...

Warm Temps ...But Rainy

Warm Temps ...But Rainy!

I'll take this type of day over a cold sunny day during the Winter. Thinking it hit around 60 degrees today. It was a nice little change, but the temps will be back in the 30's tomorrow.

As we enter the evening hours the temps are dropping.

Today's top story.

A guest staying on the 44th floor of Tropicana Casino & Hotel caused a fire. He created a Meth Lab in his hotel room. 4 floors had to be evacuated.

The guy was caught on Pacific Ave. which is block from the boardwalk.

Why couldn't the guy stay at some trashy motel. Tropicana is a beautiful place here in AC.

***Was on the beach around 5 pm today, just watching a guy paddle boarding. Thinking isn't it to cold? Guess not for him.

Also just watching some ship - Not sure what type...

With the temps now dropping less people on the Atlantic City boardwalk.

Overall a pretty good day. Hope your day was good...

Have a good weekend.

I'm sure I'll post something tomorrow, just don't know what...

Okay this is going to be such a long shot.

One of the first Gay/Lesbian Bars I've ever been to was in Perth Amboy, NJ called The Other Half.

I used to hang out there around '81 / '82ish. This bar had the most fun down-to-earth people I've ever met.
Missing those days and this place. I would so love to hear from anyone that's ever been there.

Thinking let me at least try a blog, ya never know...

Always loved the song by Hilary

Never knew all the words until now...

"Drop Your Pants"

Don't leave me for another
You've got no pride to live with mother
Don't take your fruit from my basket
Your peaches and pleasin' are always in season
I see you giving girls the eye
You taste the goods before you buy
You trick or treat beneath the sheet
It's head to toe between my feet

So drop your pants around your ankles
You make me shiver when you deliver

You hold the key, please unlock it
Don't pull your plug from my socket
I am the woman to your man
It's you that opens my tin can
I give the orders around this house
I'm the pussy to your mouse
Your sense of timing is uncanny
You play the samba on my fanny

So drop your pants around your ankles
You make me shiver when you deliver

Find the pit stop time to rest
Place your face down on my breast
Forget our shame, no need to blame
I am the fire, you are the flame
I love your lust, I am desire
Your fingers make me vibrate higher
It's magic when you come and go
I levitate in the afterglow

So drop your pants around your ankles
You make me shiver when you deliver

Today's a cold and rainy day here in Atlantic City.

It's the perfect day to just read, watch some television and surf the internet.

Was just online and looking at places I once lived.

'79 to '84 I lived in NYC. My rent was about $600. per month. Now looking at the same unit. The rent is now about $4000. per month.

WOW there's no way I could afford that place anymore. What do these people do for a living. Guess Doctors, Lawyers, and Drug Dealers.

It was a nice place ...(Bretton Hall) Upper West Side, facing Broadway.
Subway was .50 cents.
Ed Koch was mayor

Song Helped Make My "Bi' Decision

I was a Rocker growing up in Central Jersey.

My favorite radio station in the 70's was WNEW-FM in NY.

Listening to that station... they were known for introducing new artists.

Mid 70's they played a new artist called the "Tom Robinson Band" or aka TRB.

The station was always playing a new song I fell in love with called "2-4-6-8 Motorway"

I went out an bought the album. The title of the LP was "Power in the darkness".

Couldn't wait to get home and give it a listen.

One of the cuts was called "Glad to be Gay".

I started to listen to this song more than the others on the album.

Only being 17 and living at home w/family.

Thank goodness headphones were in...

Changed my outlook in life.

She was/ is known for her theatrical vocals and rose to prominence during the punk and new wave movements in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
